Additional Financial Aid Information

Most students who attend our programs utilize a combination of federal need-based financial aid (student loans and work study), employer reimbursement, scholarships, and personal funds.

Need-based aid (U.S. federal loans): Need-based awards are loans from the U.S. federal government that are administered by the Tulane University Financial Aid Office. The Tulane FAFSA code is 002029. Two types of loans are offered:

Eligible students must be a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and be enrolled in a degree-granting academic program. Graduate students must be enrolled in at least 6 credits per semester to qualify for need-based assistance. Graduate students who qualify for federal loans may borrow up to $20,500 every two semesters. All federal loan programs require that the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) be filed before eligibility can be determined. Students who wish to apply for need-based assistance must submit the FAFSA by March 1.

PLUS loans are intended to cover the amount of the total cost of attendance (COA) that is not covered by other financial aid. Students must have already completed the FAFSA to be considered for a federal direct loan.

Military Financial Aid

You can access the most up-to-date information on VA benefits here. Yellow Ribbon will be available for students in July 2019 — do not market until that time. Confirm with your enrollment coordinator/Noodle recruitment before discussing this information with prospective students.

Tulane Employee Benefit

The tuition waiver covers up to 7 credit hours. Full-time employees will only be able to take advantage of the employee tuition waiver if going through the part-time track. If employees want to pay for hours beyond the 7 credit hours covered, they can do that.
